Shinny

DHC Shinny Rules

  • There must be at the very least one parent in the rink supervising the entire ice time. If there isn’t a parent in the rink, I have told the Zam drivers not to let the kids on the ice. The supervising parent does not need to be on the bench. They can just be sitting in the concession area.
  • NO OVERAGED returning players at a 12U shinny. Meaning, BTM’s, 2nd yr PW’s, 2nd yr 13U or DHS players cannot come to the 12U shinny’s.
  • NO CHECKING
  • NO FIGHTING
  • Players must wear a hockey helmet with a cage on the ice all the time. A player can never take their helmet off while they are on the ice.
  • The player’s who show up for their shinny must pick up all the pucks, put all the pennies in the laundry basket on the bench and push the nets down to the Zam doors before they leave the ice.
  • NO FOOD or SODA’S on the benches.
  • The player doors of the rink on the concession end are NEVER left open. Players must walk around and enter the ice sheet from the home and away benches.
  • Play hard, communicate to your teammates, never turn your back to the puck, stick on the ice at all times, stops and starts, win every race or battles to loose pucks and HAVE FUN!!!
